After sifting through my research, I believe the four themes in my website are history, healthy and disease state, and therapeutic approaches. History will utilize the sources found in question 1in the mastery assignment as well as the Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. I plan on using Zollinger-Ellison syndrome as my specific focus since I have the most research on gastrinoma. The big scientific advancement I want to use here is the use of silver staining in endocrine cells to distinguish between cancers in the early 1900s. I think it’s pretty cool that my type of cancer was used to help push understanding of cancers as a whole. I plan on going through all my research including introducing streptozotocin as a therapeutic and MEN1 mutations. After history the disease state and healthy state of a pancreas will be used to further explain how the endocrine system works as a whole, explaining various types of neuroendocrine tumors as well as what they do in the body normally. Questions 2 and 3 will be primarily used here and in the disease state explanation I plan on going in depth with the MEN1 mutation which is a key finding for pNETs. Finally I plan on closing with therapeutic research which will involved the mastery assignment question 4 and the evolution of streptozotocin as a treatment option. This section will continue to grow on MEN1 research as the answer to my fourth question focuses heavily on menin inhibition to help tumor supression.
